Emily arrives home

Yesterday on Christine's birthday, Emily arrived home for three weeks. She arrived safely via Hong Kong into Auckland. Anna and Lucy were there to meet her and then go across to McDonalds so Lucy could play. She then boarded for Wellington and Christine meet the 2.00pm flight. Her friend Anna Kerslake had come up from Queenstown for the weekend so they picked her up and arrived back out at Royal St about 5.00pm. We all had a great curry and a glass or two of pino gris before settling down for the All WHITES game against Bahrain for the chance to qualify to attend the 2010 world cup in South Africa. What a crowd and atmosphere at the Cake tin. Full house of singing, chanting fans bringing the team home 1-0 and the trip to the WORLD CUP. Today not a particularly pleasant day for the Martinborough wine and food festival. Emily and Anna have left on the 9.30am train to enjoy the day out.

Feast of Corpus Christi

"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so"... ~~William Shakespeare~~
The Eucharist is not simply a meal; it is really and truly the Body and Blood of Christ. It is also the sacrifice that changes our lives. The sacrifice of young bulls that we read about in the Hebrew Bible changed the lives of those who offered that sacrifice. The Gospel of the day repeats the words heard at each Eucharist: “This is my body...this is my blood.” Jesus pointed to his blood as “life,” the source of new life for those who receive it.
This afternoon went over to Peter's place to show him the video I had taken. Peter O'Leary and Me at his place in Whitby
